In a small peaceful town called Sunnybrook, there lived a kind little girl named Alina. Little girl was known for her bright eyes, gentle voice, and a heart full of kindness. However, what made Alina truly special was her unusual hobby — she loved collecting lost smiles.
Every morning, Alina walked to school with her small yellow backpack. Inside it, she carried colorful stickers, tiny toys, and cheerful notes. She believed that even a small act of kindness could make someone’s day brighter. Therefore, she always looked around carefully to find people who seemed sad or lonely.
One day, while walking through the park, Alina noticed an old man sitting alone on a wooden bench. His shoulders were low, and his eyes looked tired. Instead of walking away, Alina slowly walked toward him and said, “Good morning! Would you like a happy sticker?”
At first, the old man looked surprised. However, after a moment, a small smile appeared on his face. He told Alina that he had been feeling lonely since his grandchildren moved away. Because of Alina’s kindness, his day suddenly felt warmer.
From that day onward, Alina started writing in a small notebook. She called it her “Smile Diary.” Every time she helped someone feel better, she wrote their story in it. As a result, her diary slowly filled with beautiful moments of kindness.
Meanwhile, her classmates began noticing her good behavior. One afternoon, her friend Sara asked, “Why do you help everyone?” Alina simply replied, “Because smiles are like sunshine. When you share them, the world becomes brighter.”
Soon, her teacher also heard about Alina’s kind actions. Therefore, she decided to start a “Kindness Week” in school. During this week, students helped each other, shared lunch, and wrote encouraging notes. Consequently, the entire school felt happier and more united.
However, one day Alina herself felt sad. She had lost her favorite bracelet, which was a gift from her grandmother. She searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. For the first time, she felt like her own smile was missing.
Unexpectedly, her classmates gathered around her. They made a big card full of love and even searched the playground together. Finally, a young boy found the bracelet near the swings. Because of her kindness in the past, everyone wanted to help her now.
That evening, Alina wrote something special in her Smile Diary: “Today I learned that when you give kindness, kindness comes back to you.” From then on, she continued collecting lost smiles — but she also learned to accept help from others.
Years later, Alina grew up and became a teacher. Nevertheless, she never stopped spreading kindness. She encouraged her students to notice small acts of goodness every day. As a result, her classroom became a place full of laughter and support.
The people of Sunnybrook always remembered her as the girl who collected lost smiles. More importantly, she taught everyone that happiness grows when it is shared.
🌈 Moral of the Story:
Kindness is powerful. When you help others feel happy, your own happiness grows too.
